It started with one engineer and a van
heatfully grew out of CGR Plumbing & Heating, a Guildford business built up over years by one Gas Safe engineer doing careful work and letting word of mouth do the advertising. That approach produced a Checkatrade rating of 9.67 out of 10 across 266 verified reviews, which is not a number you can buy.
The business has since been taken over by the next generation of the same family and relaunched as heatfully. Same engineers, same standards, same customers — a new name, a proper website and the capacity to take on more work than one van ever could.
The reason for the change was simple. The reputation was already there. What was missing was a way for people who had never met us to find that out, get a price without a sales visit, and book us without playing phone tag for a week.

- Sell you a boiler when your house needs controls
- Recommend a repair on a boiler that is finished
The engineer behind it
Chaudhry is our lead Gas Safe engineer and the person who built the reputation the business runs on. If you read through our reviews you will find his name in a lot of them, usually next to a comment about explaining things clearly and leaving the place tidy.
That is the standard every job is now measured against. It is also why we would rather grow slowly and keep the rating than take on more than we can do properly.

Where we are heading
Two things are changing about heating in this country, and we would rather be ready for them than caught out by them.
Cooling is no longer a luxury
Surrey summers have changed and air conditioning has stopped being something only offices have. We now install it for homes, and because a modern unit heats as efficiently as it cools, it earns its keep in January as well as July.
Heat pumps are coming
We are working through MCS certification so we can install heat pumps and handle the government grant properly. Until that is in place we will give you honest advice on whether your house suits one rather than pretending we can do the paperwork.

It was near the stopcock and underneath some kitchen drawers so it required some cutting of wood to access and took a few hours, but he worked hard to fix it and then cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.
